Luando - Heart of Angola
Luanda has approx. 3.4 million inhabitants, is the provincial capital and lies directly by the sea. The official language is Portuguese like everywhere in Angola which is a reminder of colonial times. Angola is located in the southwest of Africa, has approx. 1650 km of shoreline and borders to the Congo and Namibia.
Best seasons
Although there are three different climatic zones in Angola, one can clearly indicate a favourite time for travelling for the whole country. Within the months between May and October it is recommended to visit Angola after the rainy season. During that time the temperatures are relatively still mild and it is dry. The time of October until May has very high temperatures and a very high atmospheric humidity as well. Who would like to go to Angola at that time should take care that the booked accommodations are equipped with proper cooling.
Capital Luanda
The capital Luanda represents the cultural center of the country with almost three million inhabitants. A university, a technological highschool and the by far most important port of Angola are found here. Goods like mineral oil, diamonds or coffee are exported here. The cultural life has suffered through the long years of the civil war although the African traditions, Portuguese influences form an extremely interesting mixture which can be seen in Luanda in the theater and music scene or the literature. In addition to some historical buildings there are still an old Portuguese fortress, an ethnology museum and museum of the slavery in the capital to visit.

Despite the long time of problems Angola is nowadays looking into a quick development and offers many options for successful business. Still some basic principles of doing business have to be followed, to build up stable relations within Angol.
Fine Beaches
Angola offers the vacationist numerous bathing possibilities on the beaches of the Atlantic, especially near the capital at the Ilha Do Cabo and Santiago. Also the second largest city of Benguela offers attractive beaches. Bathing is possible everywhere in principle, but heavy sea may disturb on some beaches.
Enjoy Nature
About 70 kilometers away from Luanda the Kissama national park offers a savanna landscape with antelopes, gnus, water buffalo, turtles, and elephants. Furthermore Angola offers a number of national parks which are worthwhile to visit in respect of the various flora and fauna. The Kalandula waterfall in the province Malange is the third highest in Africa with a height of more than 100 m.
The Tunda Vala represents another attraction, a volcano whose height of over 1600 m provides an unforgettable view over the Atlantic and the countryside of Angola.
